Autumn is fast upon us

September is the start of a new school year for anyone with children, or as I have, a partner who teaches. And for all my fellow tribe members, L’Shana Tova, Happy Jewish New Year! May the coming year bring you peace, fulfillment, good health and unbounded joy.

During the past three months I’ve been the recipient of much kindness and generosity as I recovered from my broken hip. I’m grateful to say that I am back to bicycling and walking unassisted and hope to be back to yoga after Jury Duty next week. People brought me food and drove me to doctor’s appointments and encouraged me when I most needed it. This month I am focusing on repaying kindness with a simple act of kindness daily. As the Dali Llama says “kindness is my religion”.

We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.

Three new sites launched

It’s been a productive summer. I have three new custom WordPress websites to share with you.

noblestone-300The first one, Noble Stone Construction, is a dry stone artisan relocated on Vashon Island after working and training in dry stone construction in Vermont where he was certified in the guild system. His is a portfolio site built in Photocrati. Be sure to check out Joshua’s beautiful design work.

These next two, both launched this week, are fully responsive sites done in Pageline’s new DMS (Design Management System). If you were paying attention to past newsletters you know that responsive means that it automatically re-sizes and accommodates varying screen sizes. So check these out on your phone or tablet and compare them to your desktop.

moas-600-300x177Beth Engelman and Jenna Riggs are the dynamic duo behind Mommy on a Shoestring. These ladies have the line on free family activities and crafts for kids. Beth gets a lot of national media attention too. Since they blog regularly and we ported over 400+ posts from their old html site into WordPress, we chose to use a Pinterest-style of blog layout on the homepage.

susan-300And finally, the long awaited makeover for nationally renowned nonprofit consultant, trainer, speaker and author Susan Howlett. This site has a shopping cart, customized event registration forms and lots of videos. Watch for more video integration in the coming months.

Thanks to all these fine professionals for entrusting their business image to me.

Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.
