What's included in a WordPress site?
I offer a full-service “soups-to-nuts” package. If you need a graphic identity I can do that for you including a business card and other print collateral. I work with you collaboratively to develop your site’s architecture and design. I will train you how to add blog posts and make text changes. Then because I include hassle-free hosting, I keep your WordPress and plug-ins updated throughout the year and am available to help whenever you need it.
What's NOT included?
While I do say I’m “full-service”, I am not a writer and I do not know your business like you do. You are responsible for providing content. I do have several excellent colleagues I can refer you to if you want a copy writer and/or editor.
I like my host, can't I stay?
No, I’m sorry, but for me to develop and maintain your site I need to know that it’s somewhere I trust. Hosting is included with the package price the first year. You may choose to move thereafter but keep in mind you would then be required to do your own updates of WordPress program and plug-ins. These are critically important for security purposes which is why I include this as part of your annual hosting fee after the first year.
Do you do SEO?
Not exactly. I assure your site is built “search-engine friendly” meaning you have alt tags, H tags, page titles, etc. But SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a specialty field. If you feel your site needs researched and thorough SEO, I will recommend one of my colleagues who specializes in keeping up with the subtle and ever changing nuances of this field.
Can you just design my logo?
I prefer to work on a full scale project as outlined on this page. I do have colleagues that specialize in branding if you would like a referral.
What do I need to get started?
Ideally you should know why you want a new web site, who your target market is and who your ideal clients are. Further it is helpful to have some goals for your site. If you have a marketing plan, how do these goals fit into it? And how, exactly, will those goals be accomplished?
How long does it take?
That usually depends on you. I typically work quickly. But I cannot work without input from you. If you are responsive (providing content and feedback when needed), the process will generally run one to two months.
How much do you charge?
I do not have an hourly fee. I come up with a fixed project fee after we’ve met and discussed your needs. Generally packages start around $5,000. I ask for 50% up front and the balance when going live. I am quite liberal about negotiating payment plans however, if that makes the project possible. I do not accept credit cards and charge a mark-up to use PayPal to cover their fees.
